As I’m trying so desperately to build my business’s, both my blog and my wine business I am realizing that everything that I am doing is basically learning. I’m taking webinars, reading books, listening to podcasts, etc. I’ve never done this before and I feel so ALIVE! I’m saving all of the pins I find on Pinterest that sound like they have good information on Social Media Marketing and reading them when I get a chance.
I just did my first “Live FB Video”. Had issues with our internet service the first time around which I had several interacting but then our connection which lost my immediate interactions. I did a 2nd attempt with my phone service which seemed to work out but I noticed I had less interaction. No big deal, I am excited to see everyone chiming in, taking time out of their life to watch what I have to say…..which is a lot of “ummmms”. Working on that though!
As I am taking these webinars, reading these book and learning more about Social Media Marketing, I’m realizing how much social media has taken over the old school advertising methods. (kinda makes ya feel old) However, with everything that I AM doing to teach myself, it is making me feel more positive about myself. I notice that even a little chat with my hubby about what I did, what I read or what I was working on and why, he seems lost at my verbiage and how I’m using certain details of social media for marketing.
He believes in me so much so, that he told me to do this, take on this Wine Biz opportunity that it’s a great opportunity. He’s always so skeptical about things so when he told me to “go for it” I immediately got scared. Scared because I don’t want to fail him. Even our little guy Maxwell randomly tells me “you’re doing a good job mommy” “I’m proud of you mommy”. Well, there’s my Motivation right there!
I have met so many new people/friends recently through social media and have EVEN learned some new things from them! You do have to be careful though, since I made my profile public due to the biz and my blog I’ve had to block about 9 people/accounts so far. But it’s pretty much just common sense on what to look for when approving a friend request once you start researching the accounts….now this is Facebook. I’m still learning how to work Instagram and Twitter which aren’t my main focus/followers like Facebook.
Basically, we can all learn something new if we put effort into it and we don’t have to learn it before we start something. You learn as you go. This way you know what you need to know more about and spend your time on those topics instead of wasting time on topics that aren’t going to help you out in the end.
