A few months after we moved back to Kansas, our daughter came out to visit. This was such an amazing time, we went to all of our favorite places, restaurants, got matching tattoos, (my first-just for the record!) visited family and EVEN enjoyed some Lake time!
Sadly our time had to come to an end and it was time for her to leave. Maxwell, 3 at the time told her to wait for him as he ran up to his bedroom, opened a clothing drawer (his pajama drawer) and carried as many clothes as he could down the stairs while leaving a trail of clothes that’s falling from his arms and hollering for Sissy, “wait, Sissy, wait for me, I coming, I coming to California wiss ewe”. Needless to say, she left with tears rolling down her face in nearly a hyperventilating cry.
You see, what people don’t realize is this one of a kind relationship her and Maxwell have, it’s this unexplainable bond they have between them. They cannot be far from one another, it’s almost as if gravity will always keep them close.
My daughter Face-time’s Maxwell and I the moment she made it back to California and asked if she could come home and stay with us until she found a job and got back on her feet. (Seriously, did she really have to ask??!! Lol).
Now….this is the part where those tears were now rolling down my face all the while on Face-time doing the “ugly happy/hyperventilating crying”.
Needless to say, our family is all back together again and we are trying to make the most of the time we have, experience what we can and show Maxwell how cool the Midwest is…bugs and all!
I can’t wait to share more of our Midwest photos and adventures with you!
